WHAT IS AIRVŪZ?
AirVūz is the premiere online destination for drone pilots and enthusiasts from around the world to share, watch, and engage with an amazing new visual media called drone video content. The explosive growth in small camera-enabled drones has opened up astounding possibilities for visualizing our world in entirely new ways. Whether it’s a city on the other side of the world seen from above via a stabilized camera drone or a familiar site filmed with an HD camera mounted to a racing quadcopter, drones are opening up entirely new vistas. AirVūz is the place where creators can get the best exposure for their work, and where viewers and enthusiasts can find the best content.
We are #UnitedByDrone.
THE AIRVŪZ CREATOR COMMUNITY
As of year-end 2018, more than 13,000 content creators have uploaded over 80,000 videos to the AirVūz website. These creators include some of the world’s best professional aerial videographers and top first-person view (FPV) racing drone pilots on earth. By uploading drone videos to AirVūz, community members gain exposure to the site’s 300,000+ registered users and 10 million+ unique visitors, and access to over 1.5 million AirVūz social media followers. Top contributors also gain exposure by being featured in one of the site’s hundreds of collections, as well as being included in AirVūz Original Programming productions. Last and certainly not least, top AirVūz content contributors are eligible to win weekly cash prizes in the Drone Video of the Week contest, and are eligible to have their videos compete in the annual Drone Video Awards, where in 2019 $10,000 in cash (plus prizes) is being awarded to winners across 16 different categories.
AIRVŪZ ORIGINAL PROGRAMMING
AirVūz has an in-house studio to create original programming for the community. Shows include Drone Dish, which profiles top aerial videographers around the world and features their best work. It also includes Behind the Goggles, where top FPV racing pilots talk about racing drones and show off their newest FPV freestyle videos. AirVūz original programming also includes AirVūz News, which produces original news stories of interest to drone pilots and enthusiasts around the world on topics like new drone products, drone regulation, drone racing, and professional aerial videography. AirVūz’s original programming also includes producing highlight reels showing off the best clips from our curated collections.
VIDEO CURATION
When it comes to watching these videos, one of the things which makes AirVūz unique is the fact that every video is curated. Our editorial staff looks at every video that gets uploaded to the site and the best are selected to be placed in one or more of the AirVūz collections. There are hundreds of curated collections on AirVūz, ranging from collections to over 100 individual countries, landmarks like castles and skyscrapers, FPV and drone racing collections, and people-oriented collections ranging from dronies to drone videos of music festivals, nature-related collections like waterfalls and canyons, and transportation related collections like drone videos of cruise ships and drift cars. We even have collections around topics like locations where Game of Thrones episodes and famous movies have been filmed. For viewers, these collections make for easy navigation to the best content based on interests. For top content creators, having videos in various collections helps to ensure greater discovery for their content as well as their content creation skills.
